　　Assistant Professor of Physics

　　The Physics Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for an assistant professor, tenure-track appointment in Physics to begin August, 2015. The applicant for this position should have a Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering with a strong physics background.

　　We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates in research, and who have a demonstrated awareness of the importance of diversity in education. The teaching load for a physics professor at Stonehill includes three undergraduate courses a semester, for a total of six courses per year, plus the supervision of physics majors and pre-engineering students. Our department has developed a state-of-the-art research lab. The lab is equipped with a femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser system , optical tables, several oscilloscopes, numerous mirror mounts and mirrors, translation stages, a spectrum analyzer, Fabry-Perot cavity and many other components needed for optical experiments.
